Installation

Installing the GLOCK 41 Conversion to .460 Rowland®

The Mighty .460 Rowland® ammunition delivers over three times the power of your standard .45 ACP ammunition.

So, how does your gun handle both?  And what do you need to do when shooting each?

Shooting the Mighty .460 Rowland®:

*Remove your magazine and check/double-check to ensure there is no round in the chamber.

Attach your 460 Rowland® Compensator

  • Ensure your new barrel is in its proper “locked-up” position within the slide.
  • Screw the Compensator onto the barrel until it is close to the slide, but not actually touching it. Also, do not tighten the Compensator all the way to the end of the threads.
  • A small amount of blue thread locker may be used on the screws. Be prepared to move immediately to the next step.
  • The Compensator should not actually touch the slide. A small space is normal and required. The dimension is not critical, but the space is!
  • The large vent openings in the Compensator must open straight-up in front of the slide.
  • Install your Extra-Power Recoil Assembly (using the SS adapter ring installed in the muzzle end of your slide)

Shooting .45 ACP Ammunition:

*Remove your magazine and check/double-check to ensure there is no round in the chamber.

  • Remove your 460 Rowland® Compensator (see below if you have used thread locker)
  • Screw on your Thread Protector
  • Remove your Extra-Power Recoil Assembly and replace it with your stock assembly.

That’s all there is to it!…But we think you’ll keep your gun in .460 Rowland® most of the time!

How to Remove your Set-Screw Secured Compensator:

  • Back out the allen-head set screws several rotations until you are certain they are not in contact with the barrel threads…gentle heat with a small propane or butane torch will loosen the screws, if necessary.
  • Using a wrench with protective padding around it, apply a firm, steady counter-clockwise pressure to unscrew the Comp from the barrel.
